Since childhood, I have always had the passion to explore, create, and inspire. My adventures in the St. Louis burbs went way beyond the proverbial lemonade stand. I started a neighborhood paper, recycling service, and delivered home-made baked goods as well as produce many original shows, with lights, music, and working curtain in the basement. There was no stopping me. Before I left St. Louis I had attended the Missouri Fine Arts Academy, the Youth Leadership Foundation, and appeared in countless productions including the opportunity to share the stage with Phyllis Diller, Davy Jones and perform on the country’s oldest & only surviving showboat.
I attended the Theatre School at DePaul University and continued my education at Columbia College Chicago. It is there that I received my BA, studying acting & musical theater and directed an original, collaborative, one-act play. While in Chicago I continued to perform in city and regional productions as well as explore my interest in photography and graphic arts.
My passion for acting is equally paired with one for art, old things, and the possibility to create just about anything. I love to find artful and crafty ways to make new things from the old and use salvaged materials and eco-friendly goods in all of my work. In my studio in the Long Island City Art Center I have created numerous custom pieces and designs including, vintage window frames, upholstered headboards, light fixtures and event designs. I am also honored to have been a participating artist in the Chicago “Hearts A Bluhm” campaign this year where my heart “City Pulse” was displayed on Michigan avenue and is planned for permanent display at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
When I am not in the studio I am on stage, and in NY have most recently appeared as a distraught page boy, a one-eyed butler, hopeless secretary, and vegas chorus boy - all in one day! In many ways I am still that kid. It is that child-like passion for exploration that continues to fuel and inspire my art and craft. New York City is the world’s most awesome playground and I am thrilled that I get to play everyday!
